On My Sole

Hey there, My name is Cierra Bosarge-Fussell and this is On My Sole. Before we begin this semester project, I wanted to tell you a little about myself. I am a third year Journalism major, Africana Studies and Arabic minor at Rowan University. After graduating I plan to one day have my own Hip-Hop magazine focusing on the postive news that occurs within the Black community.

In the next few weeks I plan to introduce you to the sneaker scene in the Tri-State area. My parents got me into sneakers, they have a sneaker collection out this world. My father can keep the same pair of G Fazos for over a year and they wont even have a crease in them. When I was a baby my parents told me that I had so many pairs of sneakers that I never even got to wear them all before I grew out of them. As I got older, I started to buy a new pair of sneakers every month and my collection slowly grew. I didnt start getting into repairs and customizations until high-school.

Im going to put you on too all the best stores to cop all of your favorite sneakers for the best price because the tax on sneakers is crazy. After we cop some new kicks, I am going to take you around the Tri-State area and introduce you to several dope artists that customize sneakers and that can turn any basic sneaker into a one of a kind master piece. If you dont want to drop the bag on some new sneaks, I’ll be highlighting some incredible artists that can repair your old sneaks also.

The sneaker community in the Tri – State area isnt the biggest but we got some heat here, the sneaker scene here is magical, full of incredible events, shoes and people. So whether youre new to the community, or experienced sneakerhead like me, come with me on this journey to becoming a better journalist and On My Sole, Im sure you will learn a few things.
